THE WAGNER SOCIETY OF WASHINGTON, D.C. PRESENTS
The Evelyn Lear and Thomas Stewart Emerging Singers Concerts are moving to a large and appropriate concert venue for their next event when four exciting young singers will be presented with full orchestra.
The May 21st concert will feature singers selected by the world famous opera stars Evelyn Lear and Thomas Stewart because of their talent and potential singing Richard Wagner’s works. They will perform outstanding and favorite scenes and solos from Wagner’s music dramas Tannhäuser, Lohengrin, Siegfried, and Tristan und Isolde. Accompanying them will be The Friday Morning Music Club Orchestra, conducted by Maestra Sylvia Alimena, Music Director and Conductor.
In addition to baritone Matt Lepold, three returning singers will be featured: soprano Jennifer Wilson, tenor Roy Stevens, and mezzo-soprano Jennifer Roderer.
The concert will be at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center at the Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus, on Friday, May 21, 2004, at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $25 for Wagner Society Members and $35 for others. The public is of course invited to join The Wagner Society at the door or with a reservation order.
In addition to The Wagner Society’s goals of promoting the enjoyment and study of Richard Wagner’s music, the Emerging Singers Program, a partnership between the Society and Evelyn Lear and Thomas Stewart, presents these concerts and the support that may follow from the program to help develop vocal talent suitable for Wagner’s music.

Directions. The Schlesinger Concert Hall is located at the intersection of North Beauregard Street and West Braddock Road on the Northern Virginia Community College campus in Alexandria. From I-395, take the Seminary Road West exit. Turn right onto North Beauregard Street. The Schlesinger Center is on the left at the entrance of the college at the intersection of West Braddock Road. Parking will be complimentary for those attending the Emerging Singers Concert.
