Evelyn Lear and Thomas Stewart and the Wagner Society of Washington DC established The Emerging Singers Program in the year 2000.  The purpose of this Partnership Program is to help American singers with the potential for careers singing the works of Richard Wagner.

The Emerging Singers Program is focused on artists who have already demonstrated both the talent, and perhaps more importantly, the commitment over time to careers in opera.  Also, the Program is not focused on singers who are already being hired by major opera houses on a regular basis, but on singers who, with the Program’s help, can achieve that level of success.
