Details
Live performance! Jeffrey Swann and the Wagner Society Chamber Players, assembled by National Symphony violist Jennifer Mondie, will perform:
- Chopin's Three Piano Preludes for string quartet and piano
- Wagner's Meistersinger Quintet arranged by Maestro Swann for string quintet
- Prelude to Act III of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde transcribed for piano by Maestro Swann
- Arnold Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht, a piece that one scholar said "sounds like it has leitmotifs; contrapuntal thematic combinations communicate complex psychological states, not unlike Tristan und Isolde.
