Using Freud’s principle of applied psychoanalysis, Frank will discuss unconscious psychological forces that may have driven Wagner’s musical and narrative choices. For example, could Wagner’s personal experiences and history reveal an unconscious wish to take an elixir in order to remain faithful to one woman?
Dr. Frank used the same technique in writing his books Bush on the Couch (a New York Times bestseller), Obama on the Couch, and Trump on the Couch.
