Jim Holman: Lohengrin!

Apr 07, 2020, 7:30 PM

Levine Music - DC Campus: NW, 2801 Upton St NW, Washington, DC 20008, USA

Lohengrin is the   last, and greatest, of all the German Romantic operas. It expresses themes --   obsessive love, the Grail story, mystical dreams, political intrigue, and   social fragmentation -- that Wagner will take up in all of the seven   masterpieces to follow, expressed in music of immortal beauty. WSWDC Chairman   Jim Holman offers this lecture as a prelude to an in-depth study of Lohengrin   at WSWDC's Wagner in der Wildnis, June 5-7.

Free parking   available, or Metro to Van Ness-UDC. Click here for directions.
