Gianandrea Noseda conducts The Ring Without Words!

National Symphony Orchestra Music Director Gianandrea Noseda leads the NSO in Wagner: The Ring Without Words (compiled by Lorin Maazel). All the drama of Wagner’s four operas is here, told through the pure power of the orchestra - this is not to be missed! At the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

January 19 - February 4, 2024

Houston Grand Opera's Parsifal!

Wagnerites from around the world will descend upon Houston when HGO presents Parsifal, Wagner’s final opera, full of shimmeringly beautiful music and spiritual and philosophical exploration. The opera will be presented in a stunning, sensual, colorful production from Tony Award-winning director John Caird. HGO Principal Guest Conductor Eun Sun Kim leads a cast of extraordinary Wagnerians including tenor Russell Thomas as Parsifal, soprano Christine Goerke as Kundry, bass Kwangchul Youn as Gurnemanz, bass-baritone Ryan McKinny as Amfortas, Andrea Silvestrelli as Klingsor. Performance dates are Friday, Januarry 19; Sunday, January 21; Saturday, January 27, Wednesday, January 31; and Sunday, February 4. Performance information and tickets available here.

On the production's final weekend, February 2-4, HGO is offering a special program that includes an annual young singers competition, a Parsifal study day, and performances of Parsifal and Madame Butterfly.  The study day includes a lecture by Jeffrey Swann on "The Music of Parsifal, from Suffering to Transformation."  If you have heard Maestro Swann's lectures at our "Wagner in der Wildnis" weekends, you know how fascinating and illuminating this will be.

Christine Goerke & Baltimore Symphony!

At the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD. Also in Baltimore on 3/1/2024. James Conlon will conduct the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in a wonderful program of Schubert and Wagner, including excerpts from Götterdämmerung. Ms. Goerke will perform Brunnhilde’s Immolation. Atlanta Opera's Die Walküre!

The Atlanta Opera's Die Walküre continues their exploration of The Ring Cycle with a wonderful cast, including Greer Grimsley as Wotan and Wendy Bryn Harmer as Brünnhilde; conducted by Arthur Fagen in a production by Tomer Zvulun. Get caught up by watching last year's production of Das Rheingold on their streaming platform!
