Two Great Late Romantic Composers: Brahms and Bruckner. The Wagner Society Chamber Players, assembled
by the violist Jennifer Mondie, will play Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet, one of his autumnal and most beautiful pieces and Bruckner’s strongly Wagnerian String Quintet for Two Violas. Both pieces close with the prominent use of leitmotifs, a point to be made by Maestro Jeffrey Swann, who will provide context of both pioeces and their relationship to the work of Richard Wagner.
