Pianist Jeffrey Swann and the Wagner Society Chamber Players will present a dynamic program of chamber
music. Together they will play Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A Major, K. 414. Then Maestro Swann will perform his original piano transcription of scenes from Götterdämmerung entitled From Darkness to Light. The concert will conclude with the Chamber Players offering Schubert’s String Quartet in D major, D94, a harmonically adventurous composition that foreshadows Wagner’s use of harmonics.
The concert is being presented in conjuction with the Washington Winter Show, an annual antique show and sale to benefit local charities serving at-risk children and families. At check-in for the concert patrons will receive a complimentary ticket for the show that is valid all day.
