Bayreuth Tickets

Since 1999, the Wagner Society of Washington DC has secured tickets for its members to attend the Bayreuth Festival. In recent years, however, the festival has faced deep budget cuts even as federal and state governments have taken greater control of its management and operations. We have been informed that the festival is ending preferential ticket access for Wagner societies worldwide.Fortunately, ordering directly from the Bayreuth box office is now much easier. You can submit ticket requests online, but you must act quickly: requests are due October 12, 2026.

Ordering Tickets for the Bayreuth Festival

New Process for 2027

Step One: Visit the English-Language Ticket Shop

Step Two: Create a Customer Account

  • New customers should click “Register” and complete the form to create an account.

  • Complete the “Memberships” section on the right side of the page. If you are a WSWDC member in good standing:

         Select “Richard-Wagner-Verband International e. V.”

         Select “Yes.”

         Enter “Wagner Society of Washington DC” as your local association.

 

Step Three: Make Your Ticket Request

  • After the box office confirms your email address, you can designate your desired performances in your preferred price category.

  • You may request up to four tickets per performance and 16 tickets total.

  • Ticket requests are due October 12, 2026.

What Happens Next                  

Sometime after October 12, the festival box office will let you know whether it can fulfill your request.

  • At that time, you can reject or accept the tickets offered and pay on the website by credit card.

  • You will have immediate access to your tickets, which must be personalized and downloaded in either electronic or PDF form.

What If Your Ticket Request Is Not Filled?

  • A second window of ticket sale opens .

  • All remaining tickets will be available for immediate online purchase at that time.

  • Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.
