The performance will feature internationally acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Swann together with the Wagner Society Chamber Players, bringing to life a program that journeys from Wagner’s mythic drama to Chopin’s soaring lyricism. Live and in person only.
Program:
Chausson – Très calme from the Piano Quartet (based on the opening motif of Parsifal)
Wagner/Swann – From Siegfried Act 3: Siegfried’s confrontation with Wotan, his passage through the Magic Fire, and his awakening of Brünnhilde (Maestro Swann's own piano transcription)
Intermission
Brahms – Andante from Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 60
Chopin – Piano Sonata in B minor, Op. 58
