Saul Lilienstein's "Wagner & Brahms: A Re-examination" -

In his lecture, Maestro Lilienstein will  use great music to illustrate the rivalries, parallels, and connections  between these two great composers, who were so dramatically different in  their artistic ideals and personal temperament. They both drew upon the  rich heritage of Bach and Beethoven, but Brahms asserted the traditions  of classical practice, while Wagner overthrew them with the zeal of a  revolutionary.
